Last week the Best Women's Erotica of the Year, Volume 3 audiobook was published on Audible! These 21 brand new adult stories are now available for your listening pleasure, narrated by the fabulous Rose Caraway, who also narrated the BWE of the Year Volume 1 and 2 audiobooks (and contributed to Volume 1). To celebrate the audiobook release, we asked Rose to share her thoughts about what she enjoys about narrating the series and pick some of her favorites:
I am deeply honored to bring Best Women’s Erotica of the Year, Volume 3 to listeners who enjoy their erotica in the audio format. The responsibility of narrating such breadth of female passion and arousal is both humbling and rewarding.
Since 2013, I’ve narrated 12 erotica anthologies edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. BWE of the Year Volume 3 was my twelfth narration for her, and the level of diversity in which this particular series is bringing to the forefront of the genre is indispensable.
The stories aren’t telling us what women can be. They are telling us what women already are. That’s where this series’ empowerment comes from.
Time and again, this new Best Women’s Erotica of the Year series has moved me greatly during narration. It feels like, contained on all of those sexy pages, are women from around the globe who are telling me their stories, so that I can tell them too.
This series contains writers and characters who are authenticating the truth and identity of what is real female passion, and I applaud them all.
From Volume 3, my choice of standout erotic short stories that spoke to me are:
“Watch Me Come Undone” by August McLaughlin
I enjoyed McLaughlin’s pushing and pulling of her lead character’s guilt and lust. Between the husband, the photoshoot, and that wonderfully placed window...this story starts hot and ramps up without bogging readers down with too much guilt.
“The Skin of Someone Else” by Charlotte Stein
Excellent first person point of view craftsmanship in this one! Throw in a character wanting someone from afar...this story hits so many of the right buttons.
“Red Satin Ribbons” by Tamsin Flowers
Tamsin is provocative and unflinching in her creativity, and she’s always drawn me in with how well she puts her characters into some of the most extravagant scenes. This story has a certain decadence that will curl anyone’s toes. I don’t want to give anything away with this one. Just know that it’ll be like opening a sexy present meant just for you.
